When Josuha Guilavogui visited Guinea for the first time, he was deeply touched by the poverty he saw on the streets of Conakry. In order to help – especially the youngest and most innocent ones – he decided to establish and support an orphanage just a couple of years later.  

Josuha’s goal, regarding Josuha Guilavogui Foundation, not only aims to get kids off the streets, but to provide them a loving, worry-free and better life. He wants his kids to have the opportunity to create their own future – no matter their individual story or family background.

The daily activities in our orphanage allow a lot of attention for education and the encouragement of personal values. And of course we want our kids to be kids and enjoy their childhood. On weekdays the children go to school, do their homework and end the days with playtime and sports. They’re taken care of at any time. The weekends emphasise activities of fun and relaxation. The newly built and recently opened new orphanage in Conakry, with its football- and basketball courts, plus large playgrounds allows for everything the kids desire. Josuha and his team do everything they can to assure a loving home to the 21 children currently living in the orphanage. Josuha Guilavogui Foundation shall not only be a roof over their heads, but a place where they can feel safe, where they learn and where they can dream and plan about their future. 

A place like that, of course, heavily depends on cash flow. At the moment our founder Josuha Guilavogui is covering all costs. In 2021 Josuha officially established the Josuha Guilavogui Foundation, which shall secure the orphanage’s work also for the long term. This foundation allows us to officially collect donations – in the upmost transparent way possible.

Even if life in Guinea is much less expensive than in Europe, the foundation has daily, weekly and monthly spendings for food, clothes, toiletries, education material, toys and sports equipment. All remaining costs, related to the administration of the orphanage are and will always be covered by Josuha. It’s his desire and wish, that all donations are being used and will be dedicated to the kids only.
